Welcome! I’m an international high achiever and endurance athlete now bringing over two decades of global driving experience to the driving instructor profession. Since 1993, my life has been defined by precision, safety, and a relentless drive to help others succeed.
A World of Driving Experience
My journey began in South Africa, where I grew up and first learned to drive. Seeking new horizons, I relocated to the United Kingdom and later to New Zealand, quickly learning to adapt to completely different road layouts, traffic systems, and driving cultures.
Over the past 25 years, my personal and professional life has given me the unique opportunity to drive across a massive variety of terrains and conditions worldwide, including:
· The Americas: Navigating the massive, fast-paced freeway systems of Los Angeles, Los Vegas and San Diego (USA).
· Europe: Handling everything from busy motorway networks to tight coastal roads in the United Kingdom, Wales, Ireland, Spain, Portugal, and Greece.
· Oceania & Africa: Clocking up thousands of kilometres across the diverse landscapes of New Zealand and South Africa.
Mastering the roads in so many countries demands exceptional spatial awareness, split-second decision-making, and absolute calm under pressure. Having navigated everything from complex multi-lane roundabouts to unpredictable international traffic, driving on the left and the right, I know exactly what it takes to stay safe, confident, and focused behind the wheel.
Driven by High Performance
I believe that how you do anything is how you do everything. The same discipline and focus I bring to training new drivers fuel my personal life as an endurance athlete.
When I am not in the instructor's seat, I push my physical and technical boundaries. I actively compete in gruelling Ironman triathlons and high-speed Inflatable Rescue Boat (IRB) lifesaving racing. IRB racing relies entirely on elite navigation, reading fast-changing environments, and executing flawless safety manoeuvres—skills that perfectly mirror defensive driving.
